Smart Building Sales Engineer

US – Remote


Kterio is seeking a self-motivated field sales Engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit. The sale Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and evaluating projects to reduce energy and maintenance costs and improve energy efficiency for unlimited scope and size projects. He/she will utilize a consultative sales approach to engage with engineers and management at customers Nationwide. Specific duties will vary based on the client; 30% travel is required. You must have BMS/HVAC system background with Honeywell, Siemens, and Schneider Electric, Build proposals based on direction from VP Solution Development, and be a creative professional who can function autonomously and as a team member to contribute to the success of our organization.   • Build and maintain customer relationships
  • Drive Solutions utilizing experience with BMS/HVAC Systems (Preferred Honeywell, Siemens, and Schneider Electric)
  • Technical support VP Solution Development in creating customer-focused solutions.
  • Complete Site surveys to verify the viability of Solution Vision for customers.
  • Address customers’ needs promptly to drive revenue growth
  • Maintain CRM/Opportunity Tracking databases
  • Become proficient in selling Intelligent Building SaaS hybrid solutions. Monitor, optimize, and control any building from one platform while leveraging Smart Solution Center staffed with Engineers.
  • Work closely with Kterio founders during field sales to deliver the vision based on a customer-centric model.
  • Develop a solid working relationship with all client stakeholders.
  • Become a “Team Member.” Work closely with support staff and other System Engineers.
  • Represent the Company in a highly professional, ethical manner.


  • Bachelor’s degree. An engineering degree is preferred but not required, but technical BMS experience is necessary.
  • Must know how to construct a sales account plan of attack
  • Ability to identify decision-makers and build strong relationships with customers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; must be dynamic in presenting ideas to clients and prospective clients
  • Self-starter, motivated, and able to work with a minimum of direct supervision
  • The mentality of a “Closer.”
  • Must be open to an average of 30% travel, almost exclusively domestic
  • Proven record of ability to present engineering and technology solutions in front of groups while incorporating specific selling techniques
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proven sales and negotiating skills
  • Personal commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database tools (CRM, in particular)


Compensation consists of a Salary and performance bonus. Benefits include Health insurance, Dental, Life, and 401K. All expenses are paid, including connectivity (phone/internet).
