Chris Evans

Founder & VP, Solution Development

Chris is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Kterio and leads the company’s product development, analytics services, and technology infrastructure. Chris is a recognized industry leader in the development digital building automation systems and the use of deep analytics and machine learning to improve commercial real estate building energy conservation, operation cost efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

Chris has over 35 years of building technology and service experience spanning across multiple disciplines and implementing technology in vertical markets. His previous role was in Siemens SI HQ Switzerland where he served several years coaching, developing, and implementing software and processes globally for Siemens and customers. Before this, Chris held several high-level positions including Divisional Director for Energy Services within the largest privately owned M&E consultancy firm in London and went on to Executive operations director for his own Energy Services business Lighthouse-Energy.

His experience spans from providing building Services at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh to commissioning controls in Terminal 4 LHR; He also implemented the smart building strategy for one of the largest retail chains in the UK helping them exceed their energy and sustainability goals. Chris has recruited, trained, and developed 100s of facilities and software engineers who have gone on to implement numerous major Digital Building Transformations for leading European and North American enterprises.

Chris began his career with Johnson Controls and attended Kingston College where he gained his M&E Engineering certifications. He completed an Energy Management diploma at University Wales and an MBA.

He holds several different accreditations in this space including the first accreditation as BS16001 energy engineer with the Chartered Building Services Engineers UK. Chris also holds full membership with ASHRAE, Energy Institute (MEI), and is accredited as a lead auditor for the British Standard Institute, Chris previously held a position on the BCIA board for Energy in buildings UK after which he moved to Switzerland.
