Database Administrator / Engineer

Kterio is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator / Engineer to join our growing development team in Florida, USA. The ideal candidate would be available to come into the office one to two times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance database systems that support the company’s applications and services.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.
  • Collaborate with software developers to design and implement database schemas, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
  • Perform regular database backups and implement disaster recovery procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data inconsistencies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends, and evaluate their applicability to the organization’s needs.
  • Develop and enforce security policies to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define database requirements and contribute to system architecture design.
  • Assist in capacity planning and scalability assessments for future growth.

Qualification & Key Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or Engineer, with a focus on database design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with Azure hosted database solutions
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS), especially PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB or Cassandra, is a plus.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Solid understanding of database security best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
